Time marches on and here we are for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! These hops are so much fun. I love to see what the other ladies have created. We have a very talented group, many of them winners on other challenges, so let’s get started.
Seems I always need sympathy cards, so today my card is just that. What better to use for it that Stampin’ Up!s Beautiful Rooted in Nature stamp and dies bundle (buy the bundle and save 10%) and coordinating Designer Series Paper?

And this is my creation
My card base is Cajun Craze and the other colors, Grapefruit Grove, Tranquil Tide, and Whisper White, are from the Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper. Believe it or not, I did not use a single die cut on this card!
Using Versamark ink, I stamped the smaller of the single leaves in the Rooted in Nature Stamp set randomly over the card base, and the Tranquil Tide sentiment mat. The tree and sentiment, also from Rooted in Nature are stamped in Cajun Craze and Tranquil Tide on Whisper White and Liquid Glued to the mat. The tree was stamped off once on scrap paper before stamping the Whisper White.
A square of Grapefruit Grove serves as a mat for the Nature’s Poem DSP and lightens the otherwise too dark card. These were Liquid Glued together and Liquid Glue adheres the whole to the card front.
The Sentiment piece is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card front is finished.
On the inside I again used Tranquil Tide as a mat for the liner, which is Whisper White. On this I stamped, in no particular order, stamped off once Cajun Craze leaves around the Tranquil Tide sentiment, which is from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.
The liner and mat are Liquid Glued together and into the card base.
For the envelope, the same tree is stamped off once in Cajun Craze before stamping the envelope front and more of the Nature’s Poem DSP covers the flap.

I was just looking at your card and was going to leave a comment when I saw that Julie told you it was a “lovely CAS card.” I think you mistook that to mean CASE. CAS, without the “E” stands for clean and simple. I think I have been seeing it longer than I have seen CASE (copy and share everything). In the days before CASE it was scraplift, because of scrapbook pages. I guess when most of the paper crafting community started sharing more cards than scrapbook pages, a new term had to come with it.
Your card is nice. I finally bought this set and am glad to come across ideas for it. I didn’t get the matching dies (yet…even though it saves 10% they will have to wait). So, it is great to find cards that use only the stamps.

Thank you for stopping by and for your comments, Marianne. I had to go back and read the comments as I was confused about the CAS/CASE comment. I do know the difference, but was so surprised to have someone comment that it was a CAS, and yes, thought she just omitted the E and meant CASE. Thanks for clarifying for anyone else who may read these comments. Glad you liked the card. You WILL want to get the dies when you can. I rarely make a card without diecuts.
