Stampin’ Up! Love of Leaves Birthday

inkin-krew-blog-hop-banner2Good Morning Everyone! I hope you have started with a good week and that it continues in these strange days.

Today our Krew Blog Hop theme is ‘Fall Frenzy’ which we can interpret any way we wish. So, come along and join the fun!

For today’s card I have chosen to use the Love of Leaves bundle, available in the new mini catalog (page 49). By purchasing the bundle you save 10% over the cost of the individual items. Since it is a birthday, I used the sentiment from Special Someone for the front and one from another company for the inside. Both sentiments are stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in Copper Embossing Powder.

The card base is Crumb Cake with a panel of Designer Series Paper from the Good Taste package adhered with Liquid Glue. Over this lovely woodgrain paper I added a smaller panel of Copper Foil Sheets embossed with the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder, attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I then cut leaves in Mossy Meadow, Mango Melody, Pear Pzazz, Copper Foil and Cajun Craze.  The leaves are cut using the Stitched Leaves dies in the Love of Leaves Bundle. The Cajun Craze berries are from the retired Frosted Bouquet dies and the Mango Melody branch is from In the Woods.

The sentiment was stamped on Crumb Cake in Versamark ink, heat embossed with Copper Emboss Powder, and  cut with a die from the Beautiful Boughs dies. Before stamping with Versamark ink it is good to used the Embossing Buddy to go over the panel to prevent any stray bits of copper where you don’t want them. I used my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to edge both the sentiment label and the embossed copper panel. It doesn’t really show, but makes for a more finished look somehow.

I adhered the sentiment label with Stampin’ Dimensionals, dry fit all the components, then took a photo  when I was satisfied. My memory fails me sometimes when I try to re-create the look, so a photo on my phone is helpful.

A linen thread bow attached with a Mini Glue Dot finishes the front.

For the inside, I cut a panel of Copper Foil Sheets for a mat, then a Mossy Meadow liner was adhered with liquid glue over that. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Copper Emboss Powder.

To dress it up a bit I added some leaves from Love of Leaves in Versamark in the corners, then embossed them also in copper.

The envelope flap has more of the Good Taste DSP, and the front was stamped with a single leaf from Love of Leaves in the corner with Cajun Craze. For some reason that photo didn’t turn out and I didn’t have the the inclination to take another one.
