Stampin’ Up! Graces’ Garden Get Well for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

inkin-krew-blog-hop-banner2Good Tuesday Everyone! It has been awhile since I have posted, so I guess it is about time. Today’s theme for the Blog Hop is ‘Celebrate Summer’, which we can interpret any way we wish. I am sure you will see a lot of awesome cards/projects from the ladies who are hopping, so let’s get on with it.

What better celebrates summer than pretty flowers in a garden? Well, maybe a picnic, or a trip to the beach, but my choice is flowers. Grace’s Garden is the perfect stamp set for flowers. You will notice there are no weeds in Grace’s Garden. Mine doesn’t look this good!

My card base is So Saffron, mats are Seaside Spray, and stamping is done on Whisper White. The Garden Gate is die cut (Garden Gateway) from Thick Whisper White card stock. I cut two of them and glued one on top of the other, then adhered it to my flower stamped and colored card front with mini stampin’ dimensionals.

I sponged the sky very lightly with Seaside Spray, then added a touch of green at the lower end by sponging with Soft Sea Foam before stamping the Grace’s Garden flowers in Smoky Slate. Stampin’ Write Markers in So Saffron, Flirty Flamingo Highland Heather, Daffodil Delight, Blushing Bride, Mossy Meadow and Pear Pzazz were used to color all the flowers and leaves.

After coloring, I attached the gate, then adhered a kitty, stamped in Smoky Slate on Smoky Slate card stock, and some yellow climbing roses. These were cut with the coordinating die from Garden Gateway. I haven’t decided if the cat wants the bird or entry into the garden. What do you think?

The little bird atop the gate is stamped in Pretty Peacock, the sentiment in Smoky Slate. Both are in Grace’s Garden stamp set. The butterfly is from the Special Someone stamp set and stamped in Pumpkin Pie. The grass along the bottom of the card front is from Nature’s Beauty in Pear Pzazz.

The inside liner of Whisper White got some flowers at the bottom and a Seaside Spray sentiment from another company as I didn’t have a Stampin’ Up! sentiment appropriate for the recipient.

Of course, we have no naked envelopes, so more flowers, stamped and colored, and a kitty, on the front with some Subtles Designer Series Paper on the flap.

If you choose to re-create this card, card cuts and products used are listed below.  This stamp set and the coordinating dies are a favorite of mine and ones that will become your favorites too. If you don’t have a demonstrator, I would be happy to help you with any concerns or needs.

    1. Yes they do, and the squirrels taunt the dogs! Thanks for enjoying my (card) garden. I wish mine to be as lovely, but it has too many weeds, including POISON IVY! I keep working at eradicating it, but it pops up everywhere!

  2. Julie this is absolutely beautiful:) Love every detail right down (or up) to the little bird on top of the trellis. The poor little kitten just wants to get into that garden. Love your colors and every detail inside and out right down to the envelope.
