Good Thursday, or Day-After-Hump-Day, to You.
Seems like Thursday rolls around more often than every 7 days, but I guess it really doesn’t.
Some friends and I are going birding later today, so it’s a good thing this blog hop is this morning.
I really like this Waterfront stamp set for so many reasons, not the least of which is that it makes a very nice masculine card. Which I need this week.
It was my original intent to use His Grace and make an Easter card, then I remembered that I needed a man’s birthday card. So, here we go. Here is the sketch for today’s inspiration.
I think this is a lovely challenge sketch, so here is what I created, though I think it might have been better using a feminine slant and flowers. The pine cones were a bit too large, and I didn’t have anything smaller.
My card base is Basic Black. The mats on both inside and outside are Share What You Love Designer Series Paper. I also used it on the envelope flap.
Using the Waterfront stamp set, I stamped the images on watercolor paper using Smoky Slate for the mountain, Balmy Blue (stamped off once) sky, pacific Point (also stamped off once) water, Crumb Cake land and Mossy Meadow trees. This was cut with the second largest circle in the Layering Circles Framelits. The mat was cut from Basic Black using the largest circle.
I cut a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon and used Tear & Tape to secure it in place on the background. A few rounds of Linen Thread was wound around and stuck to the Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the art piece. A couple more Dimensionals attached this to the Share What You Love DSP mat over the Burlap Ribbon.
Using a couple of the small leaf/pine stamps from the Painted Seasons stamp set, I stamped a few of those in Mossy Meadow. The sentiment, using the Southern Serenade stamp set is stamped in Early Espresso near the top of the card.
Some Early Espresso and Crumb Cake pine cones and Mossy Meadow pine boughs from the Pretty Pines Thinlits were adhered with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals. Something was not quite right (and I am still not sure if it is) so I added a couple of black branches or whatever they are, also from the Pretty Pines Thinlits. This card front was then adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For the inside, another mat of the Share What You Love DSP is behind the Very Vanilla Liner. This was stamped with Crumb Cake for the ground, and Mossy Meadow for the trees. The sentiment is from Better Together and is stamped in Early Espresso.
The Medium Very Vanilla Envelope is stamped with Mossy Meadow trees from Waterfront across the front with a strip of the DSP on the flap.

I love the inside of your card the most, though the outside is great too. You could easily make the inside an outside some day. I haven’t attempted the Waterfront set yet. You’ve done it beautifully.
