Stampin’ Up! Animal Outing for Baby

Good Wednesday, or Happy Hump Day, if you prefer. The last two days have been hot, sticky and stormy. Today feels much better, more fall-like.

Today my card fits the criteria for Both Fusion challenges, the sketch and the photo.

In addition, I think it fits the Global Design Challenge # 159, as who in the world doesn’t fall in love with a baby?

AND, since I am using the Animal Outing stamp set as well as the coordinating Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper, it qualifies for the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies challenge #19.

So, let’s get on with it!

My card base is Soft Suede. To meet the Fusion sketch challenge I cut a banner from the Frosted Floral Designer Series Paper, flagging the end with my Triple Banner Punch. Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper made the smaller banner. Liquid Glue adhered both of these to a texturized Soft Sea Foam mat. I had used the Subtle Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder to add the texture.

I cut an oval using the third largest Stitched Shapes oval from Whisper White, then stamped the giraffe from Animal Outing in Soft Suede. The sentiment is also from Animal Outing, and is stamped in Soft Sea Foam. I used the Stamparatus to get the placement of the sentiment straight. This oval is matted to a Layering Ovals Framelits  Soft Sea Foam scalloped oval.

Using two dies from the First Frost Bundle, I cut one leaf of Shaded Spruce. I cut one berry stem in Crushed Curry and one from the same Frosted Floral DSP as the banner.

The leaf from the Winter Woods Bundle, is a dual purpose die, meaning it cuts and embosses. I embossed and cut one each in Soft Sea Foam and Shaded Spruce.

These were dry fit under the matted sentiment oval, then adhered to the back of it with Liquid Glue. Stampin’ Dimensionals lift this off the card front, making it more interesting.

For the inside, I stamped the sentiment from Baby Bear in Soft Sea Foam, the giraffe from Animal Outing in Soft Suede, and the branch, also from Animal Outing, in Shaded Spruce. There is a frog on this branch, but I didn’t want the frog, so stamped him off the panel. I then used my Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Write Marker to go around the edge of the panel. This gives definition to set it off from the Animal Expedition mat.

Liquid Glue adheres the liner to the animal mat and onto the Soft Sea Foam mat. What would I do without Liquid Glue?? I also used it to adhere the whole set into the card base.

The envelope has another giraffe on the front and more of the Animal Expedition DSP on the flap.
