Stampin’ Up! September Anniversary Wishes

Good Wednesday to All of you out there. What a GORGEOUS day the Lord has made! This is my kind of weather….partly cloudy, a little breeze and 70 degrees. Perfect! Except for the fact that we need rain so badly, I wouldn’t care if it stayed this way for several days. Actually, it is predicted to do just that. Lows in the 50s, highs in the 70s and no rain for another week at least.

The harvesting crew arrived Saturday evening to harvest my corn. They finished up late Monday night. I pray for the safety of all the farmers who work so hard to get their crops out before the rains begin (we hope) and cold weather sets in. They put in very long hours and work with potentially dangerous machinery. Being tired from lack of rest is not a good thing in this instance.

However, I doubt you are reading this blog because you really care about what is going on in Iowa. You just want to see what new card I have created.

Well, here it is! TA-DA! Drum roll please. No, just kidding. It is a lovely card, but probably not worthy of a drum roll!

I have two nieces with wedding anniversaries in September. I don’t pretend to remember how many years for either of them even though I was involved in their weddings. Guessing, I would say maybe 12 years? If either of them are following my blog, I am sure I will soon be informed!

I began with Very Vanilla. The only other color, or non color, on this card is the new Champagne Foil Sheets, used as a mat for the art panel, and Sahara Sand ink.

I dry embossed Very Vanilla with the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder. I then used Tear & Tape to secure it to the Champagne Foil mat, out of which I had cut the center so as not to waste it.

Taking a piece of 3/8″ ivory satin ribbon, I wrapped it around to the back and taped it down.

With my Embossing Buddy, I removed the static from a sheet of Vellum and stamped three different leaves from Vintage Leaves in Versamark ink. Then, I added White Embossing Powder and used the Heat Tool to finish the embossing.

I love dies! I don’t mind fussy cutting, in fact, I LIKE to do it, but the dies are much faster, and more accurate. Using the Leaflets dies, which match up with Vintage Leaves, I cut out all three leaves. I adhered them to the embossed panel with Simply Defined double-faced tape. I used this because it is perfectly clear and does not show under vellum. I did a dry arrangement to make sure I had all the leaves where I wanted them prior to adhering. I tucked them under the ribbon, letting parts overhang the ribbon.

The sentiment, from Falling For You stamp set, was CUT APART. Yep! That’s what I said.     C U T  A P A R T! I did this because the way it was it wouldn’t fit on my punched out card stock using the Pretty Labels punch. Placing the word ‘anniversary’ on the clear block making sure it was straight, allowed me to put the word ‘wishes’ below it and stamp it onto the label in Versamark, dip it into the White Embossing Powder and heat set it. This is a very pretty font and now it can be used in a straight line as intended, or stacked as you see here.

Taking the piece of Champagne foil I cut out of the middle of my mat, I cut another label. This one I cut in half horizontally. These pieces were then liquid glued to the back of the Very Vanilla label off-setting it a bit so that the Champagne made a nice mat. This layered label was then adhered to the embossed layer over the ribbon and leaves with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a small bow with the ivory ribbon and used a Glue Dot to adhere it next to the sentiment label.

Three small pearls from Pearls Basic Jewels complete the card front which was then attached to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Flourishing Phrases in Sahara Sand. Also using Sahara Sand, I stamped Vintage Leaves in the corners after stamping off once. This panel was liquid glued into the card base. I just wanted a hint of the leaves, but my stamping off wasn’t perfect, so I got more ink here than I really wanted. The other option was to emboss them as I did for the front, but chose not to do that. Perhaps I should have.

The front of the envelope was stamped with two of the Vintage Leaves in Versamark ink, dipped into the White Embossing Powder and heat set.

The flap was dry embossed with the Layered Leaves Dynamic TIEF.
