Good Sunday evening Everyone. I hope your day has gone well, beginning with attending the church of your choice. As we approach the Thanksgiving season, we are, perhaps, more aware of being grateful, both to God and to our fellow humans. If there is to be any regretting, it seems to me that it will be because we did not love enough and thank enough.
My card for today is not a thank you card, though it could be one with a change from ‘Hello’ to ‘Thanks’. I may do that another day, just because.
I started by using the detailed leaf die from the Colorful Seasons Bundle to emboss a panel of Water Color Paper. Yes, I said emboss. To do this you will need a silicone rubber mat and an impressions pad. This is not sold by Stampin’ Up, but can be found many places under the name Sizzix Emboss and Transfer Set Accessory. Sizzix is the company that makes the Big Shot machine.
Copied from the Sizzix web site: “The Emboss and Transfer Set Accessory by Sizzix will precisely compensate for the proper pressure and height required for pressing thin material surfaces like paper, cardstock and foil to make a lasting impression on your projects. This set is used with the machine’s included platform in Sizzix BIGkick, Big Shot and Vagabond Machines and made specifically for embossing with Thinlits or Triplits Die Sets, metal stencils and Texturz Plates, all items sold separately. The set includes one silicone rubber that measures 7.375″ x 5.75″ and one impressions pad that measures 8.875″ x 5.875″.”
Using that set, I embossed my water color paper with the thinlit inked with Versamark. Then, I dipped it into my Copper Emboss Powder and heat embossed it with my Heat Tool.
With my Aqua Painter and Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and Old Olive ink pads, I proceeded to water color this image.
Using the same technique, I embossed the sentiment from the Hello You Thinlits. This panel was then adhered to a piece of craft foam (1/8″ thick) with Adhesive sheets. This is mainly to proctecte the embossing from being squished during mailing, as well as to lift it off the mat. The foam was then liquid glued to the Tangerine Tango mat and onto the Pear Pzazz card base.
on the inside liner I used the pretty leaf stamp from Colorful Seasons with Versamark and heat embossed the Copper Emboss Powder on a panel of Very Vanilla. I chose Very Vanilla instead of Whisper White as the Water Color paper isn’t stark white.Following the same procedure as the front of the card, I water-colored the leaf.
The sentiment is also embossed in copper, and also from Colorful Seasons.
This was adhered to its Tangerine Tango mat and into the card base.
The Medium Very Vanilla envelope front was given the same copper embossing as the inside of the card.
The flap was simply sponged with the same colors, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and Old Olive. I first masked off the envelope front with a piece of low tack tape.
This was pretty quick and easy to do, if you don’t count the mistakes I made and am NOT showing you! This technique is worth a try.
