Stampin’ Up! Colorful Seasons

Pretty and simple. I think my card is also pretty, and simple, even though it has several layers.

I began with an Early Espresso card base for a 5″ x 7″ card. Most card makers prefer the smaller A2 size, but I prefer the larger size for a lot of my cards. This could just as easily have been a smaller one. I digress.

I cut a Pumpkin Pie mat to which I adhered a Crumb Cake panel randomly stamped in Crumb Cake with the maple leaf stamp from the Colorful Seasons set.

Using the three largest squares from the Stitched Shapes framelits, I cut one each of Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie and Crumb Cake.

The sentiment, from Special Reason (retired), was stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed in Copper Emboss Powder on the smaller Crumb Cake square.

I put the Pumpkin Pie square on the diagonal on the Early Espresso square, and squared up the sentiment. These were liquid glued together and adhered to the leafy panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The leaf, from Colorful Seasons, was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Copper Emboss powder. I then used Stampin’ sponges (cut in quarters) to dab Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Cajun Craze all over it. It was liquid glued to the lower side of the sentiment square.

Actually, I stamped, embossed and sponged two leaves, and both were then die cut with the leaf from Seasonal Layers thinlits. To me, this is the perfect, simple embellishment for this card.

I considered adding copper thread, or a bow with the copper trim. However, it seemed to me to be overkill, so I opted to leave it plain.

On the inside I repeated the random leaf stamping, only this time just around the edge for a border.

The sentiment, also from Special Reason, as well as the Happiest Birthday from Cool Treats, was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with the Copper powder. I love the magic that happens with the heat tool and embossing powder!

The second leaf was liquid glued just above the sentiment and this card is done.

The envelope was stamped with the same stamp in Crumb Cake-three on the front and randomly across the flap.
